You Can Easily Make These Candles At Home!

As teenagers in the 90s, we had candles in all colors and shapes – no wonder, since there was hardly a boy band ballad that didn’t have hundreds of lights flickering emotionally in the accompanying video. That was simply our idea of romance back then! And even though the big hype may be over, candles are still essential today if you want to get cozy at home. If you’re not still hoarding your collection from back in the day in some drawer, and you don’t want to bluntly buy candles at the store either, we’ve got some DYI tips for you!

Making candles yourself – here’s how!

In principle, it is very simple to make candles. All you need is wax, which you melt in a water bath, and a piece of wick. However, it does not have to be beeswax. If you want to make transparent candles, like in our first video example, you need transparent paraffin wax. Next, as shown, you can create a sea arrangement in a small jar, for example, and preserve it.

Example two demonstrates how to make scented candles. To do this, simply drizzle a few drops of aroma concentrate of your choice into the melted wax. You can also include flowers by attaching them to the rim of the jar with a little wax and then filling the rest of the jar (don’t forget the wick!).

To color white or transparent wax, simply melt in a few pieces of wax crayon.

Your candles will look more rustic and natural if you use wax plates. This also makes it even easier to fabricate: place the wick on the edge of the wax plate and then roll it up, as shown in the last example.
