These Pixel Artworks Are As Easy As Pie!
21.01.2022 14:49 UhrTo kids born after the turn of the millennium, we can hardly explain why we still love the pixel graphics of our youth. The angular figures and level designs had their unique aesthetic appeal, perhaps precisely because they didn’t look too realistic. If you want to pay homage to the pixel heroes of your childhood, we have two DIY ideas up our sleeves, which can be easily realized with a little diligence…
Fleece
– Take a sheet of colored clay paper and with a pencil, draw a line from one short side to the other, starting from the center of the short side.
– Then, along the long side, draw lines about two inches apart.
– Using scissors, cut strips of paper along the guide lines.
– Repeat with five different colored sheets of paper.
– Roll the paper strips and glue them together at the ends, wrapping one paper roll around the other to form chain links.
– Finally, make a hanger: Thread a wooden stick (with two eyelets at the ends) through one of the two outer rows of paper rolls; then attach a longer piece of cord to both eyelets.
Paper mobile
– On a sheet of colored clay paper, draw lines along the long side about two inches apart.
– Use scissors to cut strips of paper along the guide lines.
– Use a craft punch to make squares out of the strips.
– Glue four strips of masking tape in the shape of a rectangle to a work surface.
– Clip white wool strings into the rectangle of masking tape and glue the squares to the strings, always two squares back to back with the string in between.
– Tie the ends of the strings to a piece of craft wire (you may need to reinforce it with a second piece of wire); then bend the wire into a circle.
– Finally, make a hanger: Using a few more pieces of craft wire, form a loop and connect the ends of the wires to the circular wire of the mobile as shown in the video.
