Making gifts yourself was a cute thing when we were very small and drew mommy a butterfly for her birthday then cut it out. In the process, even among adults in self-made gifts can be a great thing. You just have to invest a little effort…. We present you two ways to get super results with a little diligence, without having to be particularly skilled.

#1 Paper Lantern

Lay out some sheets of different colored paper, draw circles on them with a compass and cut them out.

Fold each circle twice and then once along one long side as shown in the video; unfold them again afterwards.

Now glue the colored pieces of paper together at the folds.

On the resulting back side, use glue to attach a piece of string that will serve as a hanger.

Fan out the glued sheets and finally glue them together.

#2 Colorful garland

Cut out some strips of colorful paper and glue four of each to form small “windows”.

Now join them together by alternately applying glue dots to all four corners and then again to the center of each of the four strips; proceed in this way color by color.

Fold matching small “lids” to close the two open ends of the garland. Thread a piece of string through each lid to create a hanging loop.
