4 Practical Kitchen Aids That You Can Easily Build!

Do you also belong to the many people of our generation who have two left hands? Somehow it was something else with our parents’ generation. Mom and dad always fixed everything themselves and preferred to build things with their own hands rather than buy them. If you too want to feel like an old-school handyman but don’t have much skill, here are four great, easy DIYs for you!

#1 Draining Rack

Drill holes at regular intervals, at least 0,5 inch in diameter, in a cutting board (but be careful not to drill all the way through the board!) Then put glue in each of the holes and insert wooden sticks of the appropriate diameter.

#2 Knife holder

Mill circular recesses in a cutting board at regular intervals and attach metal plates of the appropriate diameter in them with glue.

#3 Paper roll holder

Drill a hole in the center of a circular cutting board and continue to cut it out on one side with a Forstner bit. Drill two holes on either side of it (be careful not to drill all the way through the board). Screw a wooden rod to the board through the predrilled center hole. Attach two other, smaller wooden sticks (with glue if necessary) in the other two holes.

#4 Tablet holder

Cut a slanted square timber from a wooden board as shown in the video. Attach another rectangular piece of wood to one of the short sides of a cutting board as a ledge. Then simply glue the squared timber to the other side of the board so that it can serve as a support.
